As you will know, we have introduced an ongoing training requirement for safety to sit alongside the ongoing safeguarding training.

From 1 September 2013, all volunteers having an appointment review will be required to have completed some form of Scouting specific safety training (Module 1, 17, 23 or the ongoing safety training module) within the last five years.

The training can be offered as a course, a small group session, or e-learning, which is now available.

The online training has been designed using the objectives and key messages which underpin the face-to-face delivery of the course. It delivers role-specific content for Leaders, Managers and Executive Committee Members.

For more information on all aspects of the ongoing safety training please see the FAQ document.

This will be communicated to all adult volunteers via Scouting Plus at the end of May. It will also be communicated in the next edition of Adult Training eNews.

If you have any queries at all please email us at adults.support@scouts.org.uk.

Kind regards,

Adult Support Team
